As members of the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association, Triflex were once again delighted to take part in the LRWA charity team challenge. Some ten colleagues are running, walking, cycling and open water swimming over the course of a few weeks this autumn. In fact, the Tri-Athletes have already started, with an office walk around nearby Trentham Gardens, some chilly sea swimming in Devon, sprints in numerous counties and a Wattbike stint in a home office!
The event is in aid of the LRWA chosen charity, LandAid. This property industry charity aims to end youth homelessness. The money raised by the team will contribute to a wide variety of projects from new buildings to renovation of properties. All have in common the aim to stop sofa surfing and support young people, from emergency housing to support for independent living.
The Tri-Athletes have been pretty social too, not only in the media sense, but in the real world as well! Team captain Alan Galloway explains ‘Our Tri-Athletes team consist of colleagues from all over the UK. They are completing the furthest distance they can in a 30-minute slot, by their chosen means. This year, some are able to come together in the same activity to record their distances. Team members have really enjoyed taking part, pushing themselves and of course sharing their success with each other’
Individuals are posting their efforts on their LinkedIn using the #LRWAcharitychallenge2022, and you can follow the teams on LinkedIn.
